MHP is hiring a full time Recovery Resource Specialist who will partner with participants on an individual basis to identify their immediate needs and long-term goals. Recovery Resource Specialists support participants by providing supportive counseling, case management services, running groups, and other activities designed to foster recovery, achieve stable housing, and increase self-sufficiency.
The position is Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. As an MHP employee, you will have access to the following benefits:

What You'll Do
- Support participants in developing an individualized, person-centered, and self-directed support plan based on their needs and preferences.
- Assist participants with acquiring and maintaining benefits, and accessing appropriate medical, mental health, and substance use disorder services.
- Facilitate discussions, groups, and recreational activities; collaborate with participants' supports as needed.
- Assist participants with educational, employment, and social goals, benefit acquisition, self-care, budgeting skills, and housing options in accordance with their support plan.
- In collaboration with participants, create WRAP Plans and encourage the development of mental health advanced directives; facilitate peer support groups as needed.
- Support participants in the community with social/recovery-oriented goals, such as doctor’s or housing appointments.
- Develop and maintain linkages with adjunct providers to coordinate participant services.
- Obtain necessary information during intake and collaboratively document participant progress in MHP’s electronic health records system; verify data accuracy with participants.
- Perform other duties as assigned to fulfill MHP's mission.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field is required.
- 2+ years of related work experience (including internships and volunteer work) in a community-based behavioral health setting; certification as a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) may substitute for one year of experience.
- Must be compassionate, flexible, and knowledgeable in supportive counseling.
- Basic computer skills (desktop computing, e-mail, timesheet management, electronic health records, internet research) and the ability to learn relevant software applications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, cultural competence, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, customer service, time management, autonomy, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments according to prescribed routines and standard practices.
- Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide exemplary customer service.
- Certified in First Aid/CPR or ability to obtain certification as required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands
- Ability to sit/stand at a desk with ergonomically appropriate equipment.
- Must be able to travel within the community (by walking, driving agency vehicles, or using public transportation) as needed.
