Mental Health Partnerships (MHP) is a nonprofit organization providing peer-driven mental health services, advocacy, and training programs for approximately 75 years throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania and in other regions of the state.

MHP’s administrative office is located at 833 Chestnut Street, Suite 1100, Philadelphia, PA 19107. Their mailing address is PO Box 40049, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

MHP serves individuals and communities in five counties across Southeastern Pennsylvania.

MHP has been supporting the mental health community for nearly 75 years, originally established in 1951.

MHP stands out for its peer-centered and peer-driven, recovery-oriented model that centers lived experience, holistic care, and social justice advocacy.

MHP’s mission is to collaboratively build hope and promote the well-being of people in recovery through innovative peer-centered advocacy, learning and services.

Yes. MHP is a registered nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.

MHP is led by a Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team with lived experience and professional expertise in behavioral health and nonprofit leadership.

MHP offers direct services like Mobile Peer Support, Case Management, Recovery Learning Centers, Homeless Outreach, Residential Services, Advocacy, Representative Payee Services, and Resource Navigation.

Direct services provide one-on-one or group support to individuals, while training/education offers professional development for individuals and organizations through The Institute @ MHP.

Recovery Learning Centers (RLCs) are peer-driven spaces offering workshops, support groups, wellness activities, and socialization opportunities to foster mental health recovery and community connection. RLC’s also offer basic needs support like meals, showers, and laundry facilities and a myriad of other supportive services.

Mobile Peer Support delivers one-on-one support from trained peers to participants in their homes or community locations.

MHP’s Case Management helps individuals access housing, healthcare, and public benefits, with personalized support from trained case managers.

MHP’s Homeless Outreach program offers on-the-ground support, basic needs assistance, and housing navigation to people experiencing homelessness.

MHP leads public policy efforts, advocacy campaigns, and community mobilization for mental health equity and systems change.

The Family & Caregiver Support program provides education, workshops, and support groups tailored to those supporting loved ones with mental health needs.

Representative Payee Services help individuals manage government benefits and ensure critical bills like rent and utilities are paid while supporting the development of budgeting skills.

The Resource & Referral Services team connects individuals with community-based supports like housing, job training, and healthcare providers.

MHP’s programs support individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, trauma, and co-occurring substance use disorders.

While most services are focused on adults, some programs—like caregiver support and youth-focused CPS training cohorts—serve family members and younger populations.

Some services require a referral, while others are open to self-referral or walk-in participation, such as our Recovery Learning Centers.

Most services are free. Some programs may bill Medicaid or require insurance, but support is available for those without coverage.

MHP accepts Medicaid and other insurance depending on the program. Contact them at 800-688-4226 to verify specific eligibility.

You can get involved by volunteering, donating, advocating, or participating in fundraising events hosted by MHP.

Opportunities include peer support, outreach, administrative help, event support, and more, depending on program needs.

Yes. You can host a personal fundraiser through social media, events, or campaigns. MHP can provide support materials and branding.

Key MHP fundraising events include the Bell of Hope Awards and Through the Lens of Hope photo exhibit.

You can donate online on our donate page or mail checks to PO Box 40049, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

Yes. The donation form allows you to dedicate your gift in honor or memory of someone, and MHP will send an acknowledgment if requested.

Join MHP’s advocacy campaigns, contact your representatives, and participate in events that support equitable mental health policies.

The CPS Training program equips individuals with lived mental health experience to support others in recovery through professional peer support roles.

To be eligible, applicants must have lived experience with mental health recovery, be 18 or older, and complete an intake interview.

Apply online through The Institute @ MHP. You may be asked to provide a personal statement and attend an interview.

Yes. We have limited funding through some counties to cover tuition and we work with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation to fund students that qualify. Please contact the Institute@MHP to see if you qualify.

The Institute @ MHP is MHP’s training and education center offering CPS certification, professional training, and workshops.

MHP offers training in peer support, trauma-informed care, DEI, crisis intervention, and recovery-oriented services.

Yes. Many courses offer continuing education units (CEUs) or certifications upon completion.

Yes. MHP offers custom training and technical assistance to behavioral health organizations and community groups.
