The Recovery Learning Specialist is an on-call role located at 7200 Chestnut Street, Upper Darby, PA 19082. The pay rate is $15.50 per hour. We are looking for a candidate who can be available to pick up the following shifts when needed:
Monday - Friday: 06:30am-2:30pm, 08:30am-4:30pm, and 9:00am-5:00pm
Saturday - Sunday: 9:00am-5:00pm

Essential Job Duties
- Create and facilitate group curriculum and lesson plans that support adult learning and recovery skill building; prepare handouts and maintain documentation for group topics.
- Organize participants into groups and encourage mutual support and success.
- Collaborate with participants to identify and access community resources to build natural supports for community success.
- Support the development of participants' recovery plans by coordinating resources and supports to promote self-sufficiency.
- Obtain necessary information during intake and collaboratively document progress in MHP's electronic health records; verify data accuracy with participants and maintain required documentation (daily logs, progress notes, shift reports, Incident Reports, housing applications, etc.).
- Monitor and oversee the community environment to ensure the safety of all participants, supplies, and staff.
- Comply with established quality and regulatory standards, including supervision and training requirements.
- Partner with other agencies to assist participants in obtaining safe housing and/or other resources when needed (may require driving participants).
- Maintain compliance with all MHP policies and procedures, and report any known policy or legal violations.
- Assist with housekeeping and facility duties as needed (e.g., shoveling).
- Perform other duties as assigned to fulfill MHP's mission.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required; Associates degree in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of related work experience (including internships and volunteer work).
- Credentialed as a Certified Peer Specialist is a plus; if the program is in certification as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist is required within 6 months of hire.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Basic computer skills (desktop computing, e-mail, timesheet management, electronic health records, internet research) and ability to learn relevant software applications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, cultural competence, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, customer service, time management, autonomy, problem solving, and organizational abilities.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- If the program has a functioning kitchen, and cooks or prepares food, ability to obtain a Food Safety Certificate within 6 months of hire is required.

Physical Demands
- Sit at a desk with ergonomically appropriate equipment.
- Lift up to 15 lbs.
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance and be available for a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays/overtime as needed.
- Ability to drive a multi-passenger vehicle and physically support passengers during ingress/egress, if required.
- Walk around multiple MHP locations and in community areas that may not be handicap accessible.
- Ascend/descend stairs while carrying computer equipment.
- Remain awake during the entire shift, including break times.
- Frequent talking and listening; must be able to communicate clearly despite potential exposure to loud or vulgar language and hostile gestures.
