20 for 20: Support the Future of Peer Specialist Training

by Leigh Braden

Leigh Braden, Director, The Institute@MHP

I am so excited to share a remarkable milestone with you—the 20th anniversary of our Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) training program at the Institute@MHP!

Over the past two decades, our Peer Support Specialist Training has transformed lives through recovery-oriented practices designed by those with firsthand experience in mental health recovery.

What I love about the CPS training is that it helps to offer a professional pathway for people with lived experience to help others on their mental health journey. CPS can easily connect with those who have been mistreated in other systems, those who may not seek traditional therapy, and those who struggle to access resources. CPS serves as a crucial bridge to connect individuals with the services they need.

It begins with sitting together and acknowledging, "I see you. I understand your experience, and we can navigate this together."

To celebrate this milestone, we’re launching our special $20 for 20 campaign. We invite you to join us in marking this occasion with a $20 donation —symbolizing 20 years of impact and countless lives changed. Your contribution will enable us to continue offering top-tier training and to expand our reach, building hope in the years to come.

Thank you for being an integral part of our journey. Together, we can continue making a lasting impact on the lives of those in recovery. Together, we build hope.

For those who are able and inspired to make an even greater impact, consider supporting us with $200 or even $2,000. Each level of giving directly fuels our mission to empower those in recovery, with every dollar making a tangible difference.

Warm Regards,

Leigh Braden
